Houli Eco Park used to be a dump. After soil condition improvement and banking, it is now an eco park comprising colorful sea of flowers, vast grassland and a manmade eco pond. Yellow cosmos, sunflowers and a number of other flowers take turn to bloom in different seasons. Visitors to the park can also visit the neighboring plant nursery whilst being there.
By the end of the flower season, the decayed flowers become natural fertilizers that nurture the once destructed land. During the period, the eco park becomes a place for residents to relax and exercise. When Taichung hosts the annual International Carpet Festival, the eco park is then turned into a 3D garden enriched with flora installations and performances.
