Dajia taro owes its national popularity to Ah-Tsung-Shih, the person who came up with a purple rosy pastry using top betel nut taros. The pastry became renowned as Shan Mai Taro Cake and facilitated Dajia’s taro industry.
Ah-Tsung-Shih is a pastry chef of more than 40 years of experience. To allow more people to learn about the culture of local taro industry, he founded the Taro Culture Museum including eight themed areas where visitors can learn about the ecology of taros, the history of taro industry, the culture of pastries, Ah-Tsung-Shih’s family stories and buy souvenirs from the gift shop.
Moreover, fun activities are available as well including guided tours, tasting taro cuisines and the most interesting of all, taro cake DIY workshop in which a pastry chef will demonstrate how to bake taro cakes. Visitors should reserve for DIY workshop  in advance.

    適合運動量少的人,景色不錯的步道

    知高圳步道前方沒有太多的停車空間,可以至善光寺下方的停車格停車再步行到步道入口,前半段的知高圳是在綠蔭當中,後半部較沒有遮蔭,一路上都能看到灌溉的溝渠,走沒多久會看到木棧道,聽聞以前下方是可以步行,若滿水位還可以看到小瀑布景色,後來不知道什麼因素封起來了,途中會看到一條小岔路,有個不明顯的板子寫著好漢坡,以及小板子寫著雪蓮步道,從這條路上就能開始登上學田山,登山的沿途都是舊輪胎皮製成的步道,輪胎皮...

    老少咸宜的輕量級步道

    搭乘火車到成功車站約需走20分鐘到步道口,一路平緩無起伏,部分路段有樹蔭,沿著水道旁走,令人感覺舒適悠閒。知高圳步道不長,若是不過癮在步道終點再走100公尺,有另外一條雪蓮步道,坡度稍陡,但是視野寬闊,可以抵達學田山三角點後再返程。
